This Residence is nestled into 40 acres of land above the Connecticut River and the town of Lyme, New Hampshire. An architecturally designed home was sited for maximizing views of the mountains and valleys beyond. The main terrace wraps the southern and western exposures of the home. This terrace is bounded on 3 sides with a beautifully crafted stone wall built by local stone masons with locally sourced fieldstone. The terrace provides a great extension of the interior living space, and offers magnificent panoramic views of the property and the valley beyond. A small existing upper pond was enveloped into a larger designed collective of ponds that utilize natural spring water, and are utilized for irrigation. Massive natural ledgestone was excavated and exposed to inform the design of the ponds. A series of fieldstone walls articulate the grade and create a spillway. The natural beauty of the site is further enhanced with an apple orchard, perennial plantings, and a natural meadow bursting with Lupine blooms.
