Style and functionality combine in the design for a contemporary town home in Uptown Dallas in a small urban garden and outdoor deck. An ipé wood deck extends above the garden below, revealing views through steel grate inserts in the floor. A cast-in-place concrete table serves as the centerpiece of the design, and it incorporates a small reflecting pool at one end that spills through the steel floor grate to a hidden basin below. A fire element is incorporated into the table for winter months. Translucent and steel divider panels provide privacy without compromising natural light, and vertical steel pickets along the outer edge allow views to the plantings along the Katy Trail beyond.

Architect: Ron Wommack
